What is Tabouli? Good question, and I’m glad you asked! Tabouli is a Lebanese salad traditionally made with bulgur wheat and tomatoes, fresh herbs, lemon juice, oil and spices. It has a wonderful, fresh flavor that can be eaten as a side dish or as a meal! Tabouli is a labor of love to make… picking all the leaves, chopping up the ingredients and soaking the wheat. So, aren’t you lucky? We did all the work for you! All you have to do is ENJOY! More information on bulgur wheat below.
The way to eat tabouli is with a little “scoop” of lettuce (preferably iceburg as not to take away from the flavor!) DIG IN and don’t be afraid to use your hands! Tabouli is very healthy for you and low in fat. In both of our varieties, we use canola oil, which is high in omega 3 fatty acids!
For our gluten-free customers check out our “Sadie’s Gluten-Free Tabouli” made with quinoa standing in for the bulgur wheat. Same great taste without the gluten!
